Aren't you supposed to be keeping it more simple... A car will be far too complicated for some people! I think something too in-depth will put people off. There were moans last time that a character would be too difficult, but that would take less time than a good car model...

Why not something more conceptual and get the old grey matter working a bit, instead of copying things? Concept visualisation & presentation can be a big part of a 3D artists portfolio and this is a 'learning' site after all.

Maybe take an existing product and create a concept piece based on it. Enhance the packaging, change the presentation or even come up with the next generation of the product. But keeping in mind that for the final piece, you will need to reproduce high-quality visuals to 'present' (hypothetically) the client...

Get those creative juices flowing and lets not turn into a load of photocopiers! This would be good 'real-world' practice for everyone....

i know this is somewhat against the forum rules a little bit, but why not a 3d model based on the p2l orb? ie intergrating it into an everyday use product, p2l basketballs etc.

like an accesory

Nah... it doesn't even have to be electronic

For example take the humble coke can.. how could you repackage/remould/enhance the product. How could you take it to the next level. Thirty years ago people were still drinking it out of glass bottles, what will it look like in thirty years time....

It could be a computer mouse or a tube of toothpaste. But it has to be an concept piece based on an exsisting 'branded' item.

accesorys dont need to be electronic ;)

hmmmm...........

i think bongo is right.. simple is best..and a bit of choice...
maybe an open ended title for the compo that the models have to relate to in some way..
something like..
"a space oddysea"

dam spelling... oddysea- spelt wrong on purpose... and because it could be an odd sea ;)

I do like the idea of future concepts of everyday items, gives people a chance to show their creative sides (And perhaps means that those of us with less of a 3D talent could score big marks for having ingenious ideas!).
