Anyone here willing to share their text ad stories? I know there are many alternatives to those not able to use Google's adsense program, so list who you've tried out or ended up using instead!

The only one I know of is http://www.bannerboxes.com but to be honest, I've never really looked very hard as I am happy with adsense. Anyone have other places worth recommending or condemning?

ive been using http://www.clicksor.com, seems to be ok, but you have to wait until you get to $50 before you get payed.. so i hate it Does adsense support paypal yet?

Google sends a cheque to your home address, I don't really see the point in them paying to a Paypal account.

$50 is peanuts.

I'm sorry if i'm straying off topic a lil' but there are thousands of "affiliate" programs you can set up. For example, theres one where you have a search bar on your site, and get paid for each succesful click thru from that search.

If your old enough to make an income your old enough to pay taxes, I have never heard of minors getting paid for ads majority hide under their parents names, kinda feel sorry for their parents when the tax man comes knocking because its all recorded.

well im trying that right now and adsense isnt quite working for me cuz im not quite sure how to approach my mom and ask for her bank account info and her social security info... im using this www.mod-chip.com make money offer and so far its workin even though im not quite sure if they pay out a check or just paypal (which i also tried )

I've been looking at different affiliates and i do have to say that adsense is probably goign to be my choice i run quite a few sites and the adds are not that big of a deal. Besides. i google. Have all of their software on this hummin baby from Hello to the toolbar i use in firefox.

I make the majority of my revenue through Google Adsense, they have been very good to me

Best resource Aswell Yahoo and M$ are coming out with their own ad publishing programs real soon to compete with google, they will be the major alternatives to google.

There are other types of advertising other than google which is pay per click, there is pay per impression (CPM) that pay for every time your add is viewed, things like BurstMedia etc, they are very difficult to get into you need like 5000 unique daily before they even consider your website or something like that (i forget honestly)

Here's a list of alternatives to AdSense. Some contextual, some standard banners and text links. But be warned, some of these companies do have bad reputations and most will not match the revenue of AdSense. So be careful when choosing an advertiser.

I personally recommend Yahoo! Publisher Network for any US resident. Don't worry everyone, once it's out of BETA it will be available to everyone.

A few months ago we were banned from google adsense (and it wasnt from me clicking on the ads, im not that stupid) but anyway back on topic, i am currently using fastclick but im sure that if i was still with google i would be earning twice maybe even 3 times as much, does anyone know of any particularly good alternatives?

Well, if you're in the US then I suggest Yahoo! above all overs. I've also heard really good things about Chitika, Pixel2Life even uses them. I've also heard some pretty good things about TargetPoint, Clicksor and Bidvertiser.

The problem with CPM, like Fastclick, is that you need a really high traffic website to make good money. Contextual CPC ads usually work out much better for lower traffic websites.
