Hey, made this website lay-out with photoshop CS which looks mighty good IMO. Now I followed a tutorial

that one. But I seem to get stuck as soon as the guy mentions tables. He says to do the following::

I have Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 7.0.1. Can some one help me with this problem? I mean, my graphics aren't bad. I only need to get the hang of Dreamweaver. I don't have any background in HTML, but with the designer mode it shouldn't be any problem at all. Well, just a little problem then .

I did the next :: Make a table with one row/column. In this table I made a table with three rows. The first one contains my banner. The second one should have my menu bar, and the last row should exist of 3 columns for left border, right side border, and in between. Now, I inserted my menu bar and checked how the site would look like. There is this uglu gap in between the banner and the menu bar. (Approximately 3-5 pixels).

Can anyone please help me :'(

basicly what he's trying to tell you to do is this:

I don't understand coding, and I'm barely standing trying the designer mode. But I'll give it a shot, maybe it'll work.

well, that's the exact tutorial that got me started with html really

i did go here to learn about the most basic stuff in html... but it was that BS tutorial that really got the ball rolling with me

also, i don't think the mode you run dreamweaver in matters, try using the insert tool bar/menu and edit tag function (right click), to do stuff and you should make sense of somethings

Well, it's not that I don';t understand how to do stuff anymore. I now have this other problem, which I posted somewhere on this board, just going to search for that. I can't get upper banner to stick with the lower part of the site. It doesn't run through. There's this 3-5 pixel gap in between.

EDIT :: I'm now on the site you gave me... thank you so much for the link. It's kind of making everything clear to me o_O

but if im not mistaken a fix to your problem could probably be cell spacing

in the <table> tag add: cellspacing="0"

I made the table. And I inserted images (which I'm going to define as links later on) but I need the space of the images to be smaller...

Managed to make a website layout today that i'll try to post it here this weekend, and that was the questing bugging me... how the hell was I going to export that to dreamweaver!

you guys are wasting your time lol, if you have Dreamweaver, just INSERT A NEW LAYER, and then put the pictures in the new layer buddy

this is the part that got me
4) Create another table inside the table we just made and set the width to the width of the layout you have created. For me the width will be 600 pixels. Also set the Height of this table to 100%.

Make 2 rows for the table we just made and make both rows vertically align TOP as we did in step 3.
