How can I make something solid to were a mesh object hits insted of PASS THOUGH another mesh?

Depends on the program:
f.ex.
in carrara its just called: collision detection
in 3DSMax: reactor > create objects > Rigid Body collection, and then you have to add all the objects in the RB Collection Properties rollout.

hey scythar how do you do it in c4d? (sorry if this is off topic for the other guy, donno what program he is using, but its of interest to me)

Dunno by hard, but ill search it in a book a have of C4D, it should be in there.

I know, i've got the book to and I've been workin with this program for over a year and checked out all kinds of tuts and nothing

I know how to do it in Maya?!?! ofc i do!
If particels i want to colide:
Select the particels and the Suface/Poly
Particels > Make colide, Done

But if u dont use maya, bad for u man ^^

Thanks for the info, guys. Forgot to say its 3D Max 6. Will that work for particals to?

Yep, like i said you only have to put them in the list of the rigid body collection.
Another advantage is that you can give them a mass, so 3 different spheres, apply gravity and 3 different masses, then you give a "water" dynamic at some plane: 1 sphere will sink the other will float etc...
