Hi folks im having problems typing text in Photoshop, whats happening is i select "Horizontal type tool" then when i go to type i just get a very small black square and my tool turns into the "move tool" maybe i've been messing about with the settings (cant recall that i have however), i've tried setting to default but the same thing keeps happening, Any ideas?.. its getting kinda frustrating.. Go to image > image size and check under the dimensions what the resolution is.
Should say 72 dpi, r something normal... so when it is saying 2 dpi, change it.

Have you tried reinstalling? Have you tried playing around with the settings in your character palette? Go to Window > Character.

I had the same colour font as the background and didn't realise once and thought it wouldn't type lol.

sorry for the length of time in replying to your help, i tried what you guys said but nothing changed, went for a re-install and now all is fine, Like i say i cant remember having messed with the settings or anything,anyway alls well now..thanks
