did u check your preferences under audio playback (i thinks thats what its under) or something like that.

if changing the audio settings doesn't work try reinstalling after effects.

Are you talking about when you pre-render the video to see what you've done?
Because if you look in the Time Controls theres a speaker button and that might be muted.

Ok so I was searching google because i'm having the same problem; when I import audio, or video with audio into AAE, and try a RAM preview, the sound does not play. But I stumbled across this thread.

If however I go to Composition -> Preview -> Audio Preview (workarea), the I can hear just the audio.

So I guess the question really is, does anyone know how to RAM preview audio and video at the same time?

Sorry to bumb a dead thread as well btw.

Have you checked to see if the speaker is muted in the preview controls?

ok guys.. depending on which AE version you working on, the audio checkbox on the render window may be checked off.. that has been fixed from CS3 on, till then everytime you render a movie and there is no sound then you probably forgot to check the audio checkbox on the renderwindow.

cheers

Nope. It's not muted. It's so strange. And say if I have an audio track in the project window, and double click on it, shouldn't it play the track, in the preview window?

=/
