I'm new to this forum so, first of all, hello
I'm making an energy drink for school, but I would like
to make some ice blocks around the drink (serve chilled)
but i have absolutly no idea how to make one!
I have found a good material for it though!
Anyone who can make me a tutorial or something?
Would be really great!
Thanks in advance,
dahn

Then maybe afterwards see if using 1 of the deformers could also help...
Just my 0.002, maybe you wont get what you want.
Edit:
i tried it to do this in a quicky... --> used the brush tool in pull mode, and since i pressed the ctrl key it will push instead of pull. Then afterwards i went over it again with the smooth tool in low strength and just by clicking once at certain places.
Also i put the cube under a hypernurbs at the end.
Here's result, sure you can do better if you put the time and effort in it...
(rendering... on my old pc)

Wish I could do 3D work like that.
What programs did you use?

i used to much light for the ice-blocks though, you can barely see the details on some of them.
and i dont like the material i used for the clip.. its to blue-chromey,
going to make it more realistic, but i rendered 3hours and 50 minutes on it so
its going to take a while:p

only change the option from pull/push --> smooth.
turn ambient occlusion on in the rendersettings. (AO for short)

It takes time to master it (i cant ), but here's the principle:
1. choose "metaball object" and change the attributes in the attribute manager, maybe start with these settings and change them after making part of the model:
chooseMeta.jpg 14.02KB 93 downloads
AttributesManager_meta.jpg 22.03KB 82 downloads
2. choose the polygon tool and drag the object onto the metaball object:
choose_polygon.jpg 13.03KB 79 downloads
drag_p_lygon_onto_meta.jpg 2.46KB 84 downloads
3. now, choose "Points" mode, and the "move tool". Now start ctrl+clicking a dozen of points upward, or downward to make your metaball object. (best done in f.ex. front view)
ctrl+clicking adds more points;
clicking on point selects it so you can move it and see result realtime in metaball
decreasing the hull value gives the metaball object more stretchines
with the scale values you decrease/increase the size of each "metaball"
