I was wondering if there was a way on cinima 4d to create a 3d modle using a 2d image. Like a way to trace it and then extrude or something. Can you post a link of a turial if there is one.

there are,
but method depends greatly on the complexity of the object your trying to trace and the purpose.

For background figures, f.ex. i would just "billboard" them, or map them on a primitive.
For other cases, like airplanes you would need top view, side view, frontview and ev. a perspective view for reference, then you would try to start with drawing splines or polygones, following the views.
There are maybe even other methods...
