okay...now, i have an issue that may seem trivial but really makes a difference in my ability to use photoshop. Now, most users who have used ps for a while know that pressing this button (or the "F" key):



will fill teh screen around you're image with a neutral grey color, covering distractions etc. and giving full view screen to photoshop (as oppossed to just the floating window)

somehow...i managed to make it so that the neutral grey is BLACK!!!! i have no idea how to fix this and its a serious impediment to my work! please help!!

i have no clue about this, but would it be because your foreground colour is set to black whilst your using this tool?

grrr...no...no, foreground/bg color make no dif..anybody help?

Well if you toggle through hitting the F key it goes from grey(with menu bar) to black(with no Menu bar) back to normal layout.

yea...i know that....i even said it in the description...the problem is, the grey is now black, the part where it SHOULD be black is still black, but where it should be the neutral grey, it is black...and seriously pissing me off

I have never come across this problem before and if its really get on your tits and you can't live with it do something that takes five minutes.

Just uninstall and re-install, then you back to stock, just remember to clean the register after the uninstall and make sure you copy all your presets, brushes etc then just put them back in and its all fixed. Yes its drastic but doesn't take long with PS.

Have you ever saved your workspace (Window>Workspace>Save workspace)?

If so, restoring the default grey might be as easy as restoring your old workspace from the same drop down menu.

good idea star, but it didnt work....i havent saved any workspaces, and i think that just works for pallate location
