Brief description of what i'm trying to do:

I have an animation of someone moving accross my stage following a path.

I need to mask this animation but can't apply a mask to something following a guide path and vice versa.

All I can find tutorial-wise is how to make a mask follow a path, i've been looking for a while. it's my first time in flash and i'm not using actionscript, just tweening.

can anyone help me?

once you know the tween is the way you want, you could select all the tween frames, convert them to keyframes, and remove the tween. this effectively turns your tween into a fram by frame animation which wont rely on the motion guide, so you can then get rid of the motion guide layer, and apply your mask to the animation.
