Shaded Face tutorial

This tutorial was made by me FATAL/coconutx and i do not permit this to be ripped (copied or modified) without my permission

This tutorial will show you how to turn this type of picture :

note this image has been made smaller than the image i used
so if u follow this tutorial exactly you wont get the same result

Its a very simple tutorial but can be very effective when used well.

Step 1: Open up your picture in photoshop version 5 or better

Step 2: Duplicate the layer and delete the original (background) layer

Step 3: Go to image > mode > grayscale when it says wether to merge or not click on dont merge.

Step 4: THE SIZE OF THE IMAGE TELLS YOU HOW MUCH IT NEEDS TO BE BLURRED.This step is vital to get a good look otherwise the result will seem choppy. Go Filter > Blur > Gaussian blur and for the picture above 500 pixel wide set it to 5 you can fiddle with this but i find 15 is the best.

Step 5: Now go to Image > Adjustments > Brightness/contrast and leave the brightness alone but put the contrast to 100.

OPTIONAL Step 6: If you want you can pres ctrl+I to inverse colours and it might look better

And there you have it your own 1 toned shaded face.
