If you have an Intel-based Mac, and you are wondering why you can't run some internet applications in Safari, it is because Shockwave has not yet been written for the Intel Macs. If you wish to be able to run these apps, follow this tutorial.

1) Ctrl + click on Safari and show it in the Finder.

2) Click once on the Safari icon.

3) Ctrl + click on the icon and select "Get Info".

4) Under the General category, check "Open in Rosetta".

5) Restart Safari.

That's it! Shockwave applications will now work. Keep in mind that Safari does run slower in Rosetta mode, so it is recommended only to use it when you need to use Shockwave applications.
