nice, simple & easy effect
Although on your final result its looks like green glowing wood, you should stengthen the effect.

I set a green colour overlay, and the oter glow to:
100% oplicany
Normal blend mode
same with the inner glow and then i used the deafult settings on the colour overlay

Awesome tut! I did it with another image and I liked the result What do you think about?

Decent tutorial. It kind of looks a little cheesy, though... May want to intensify the glow a little and try to edit out the sticks as much as possible (Or whatever he is holding).

I kinda tried the whole thingy direcly in a 3D program (Carrara):
here's the result:
