Competition: Design a layout with a mascot for my site.
Prize: $100
Max Submissions: 3
Rules:

Layout:

The layout should be in this format:

HEADER
LINK BAR
SIDE BAR 1
CONTENT SPOT
SIDE BAR 2
FOOTER

The size should take up almost the whole page but about 50-100px space at the sides.
It should be coded into css.
I will add the PHP Scripts.
COLOR SCHEME= YOUR CHOICE. MAKE A GOOD ONE. KEEP IT RELAVENT TO THE WHOLE PAGE CONTENT.
MAKE IT SOMETHING THATS EASY TO READ, AND IS NICE TO LOOK AT. DO NOT MAKE IT CHOPPY.

Mascot: I want a mascot of a monkey that looks kind of nerdy with glasses, like hes walking somewhere.
He should have a little binder in his hand that says "Tutorials". But hes holding it in a way where its at his
side and his hand goes threw the word "Tutorials". So it will show like "Tuto HAND als. Or similiar.
He can kind of look like Curious George. Good example of what I would want is:

Thats curious George. Change it around a bit. Use your magic. Maybe make his Eyes Blink, Make his other hand fix his glasses
every time a new page loads or something.(KEEP THE CLOTHES TO ITS COLOR SCHEME, IF THERE ARE ANY)

There should be a little logo on his shirt/chest that says PHPLounge or something relating to it.

Main Links: This should be somewhere in the header where theres a picture, with a rollover that will show the text of what is is. A good example is www.pixel2life.com

Search Spot: There should be a search spot so I can search my tutorials database. I will add the form myself so just leave theese dimensions: 451x43 or close to it. But do not go more than 5px smaller both ways.<-- IN PX.

You certainly know what you want, I'd do it if I didn't have to do the mascot I think thats abit to much, you could shade some of the prize money off maybe if I never made the mascot?

Yes. But it must have a nice logo than.

And I will be using the layout.. Let me know if your going to give it a shot or not.

Yeh I thought that but the comp is "Competition: Design a layout with a mascot for my site. " if it's coding aswel then it doesn't seem like $100 is that much for a full designed and coded site...

Yes it has, I told him I wouldn't make a mascot, so he said it must have a nice logo atleast, to be honest I don't think I'm going to be taking part. It seems a tad to little for a task of that size, sorry but no thanks.

And I dont know why people are complaining that you have to code the html aswell.. its not that hard, and it usually takes me about 10 minutes to. I guess its harder for others..
