No i just think that its prety sad when people stay in to be on their PCs all the time. Anyway, I have 4 GCSEs in IT, including GNVQ and a £18,000 a year job.. and im 16 So im happy that you're smarter than me.. Maybe you can do better.
Now, where did I say in my comment that I stay in to be on my PC all the time? In fact, your assumption couldn't be more wrong. When I'm not working I'm usually spending time with my beautiful niece and my fat little sod of a nephew (who is one tomorrow, bless him).
And, if we're going to start chucking around qualifications, I'd be more than happy to point out that even my brother passed the GNVQ ICT - and he failed most of his other GCSEs. Having worked in a school and helped kiddies with their GNVQ I would say that it fails on the practical side. Even the AVCE, which is effectively the next step up, doesn't teach much in the way of 'wordly ICT knowledge' - most of the guys that I took it with when I was in college still didn't have a clue how a PC worked, how to build one or even something as basic as what an IDE cable is! Experience beats qualifcations hands down, and any decent employer knows that (but then of course there's getting in an irritating loop of not being able to get a job because of no experience and not being able to get experience because of no job).
As for your pay: I find that those who brag about what they're earning usually aren't earning as much as they say. You want to be careful about people assuming you're trying to make yourself sound good.
