4. After you have heard “Oh, a web developer, I have nephew (not shaving yet) that makes web pages” enough times to make you want to run the following query:

lol I dont shave.. but make "proper" web pages.. xD

13. you can identify the photoshops effects neccesary to make a specific graphic.

3. When you enclose a piece of text in the u tag rather than underline it.

Any real developer knows that <u> is deprecated, and they wouldn't use it at all. :huh:

when u start calling ppl divs

That's been an insult in the UK for years.. :)

12. when your surfing the net you check image links for alt tags

12b. When you can tell the different between a tag and an attribute

The font one happens to me all the time :) hmm, lets see..

You know you're a web designer when:
- You open Notepad when you're trying to open Dreamweaver/Frontpage
- You right-click on Flash movies to see if they've disabled the built in items
- You select a whole webpage to see what images are backgrounds

You might not agree, but I do this :love:

A lot of that is true, whenever someone shows me a document or when i go into a shop sometimes i say 'They need a better font, it's a horrible font is 'xxxx'

how about you start your shopping list like this.

#Vegatables {
Carrots: 3lbs;
Brocoli: 1lbs;
}

Lol. Bit advanced though.

Aha, good one

Obviously.. So you do stay in on Fridays praising FF? lol.. Lame.

What's lame is insulting somebody simply because they know more than you.

But then you're a guy - I'm used to patronising little men who can't handle women who code. :)

"You encourage people who can't design/code to do exactly that so you can laugh to yourself when you see the results."?? :P

Now, where did I say in my comment that I stay in to be on my PC all the time? In fact, your assumption couldn't be more wrong. When I'm not working I'm usually spending time with my beautiful niece and my fat little sod of a nephew (who is one tomorrow, bless him).

And, if we're going to start chucking around qualifications, I'd be more than happy to point out that even my brother passed the GNVQ ICT - and he failed most of his other GCSEs. Having worked in a school and helped kiddies with their GNVQ I would say that it fails on the practical side. Even the AVCE, which is effectively the next step up, doesn't teach much in the way of 'wordly ICT knowledge' - most of the guys that I took it with when I was in college still didn't have a clue how a PC worked, how to build one or even something as basic as what an IDE cable is! Experience beats qualifcations hands down, and any decent employer knows that (but then of course there's getting in an irritating loop of not being able to get a job because of no experience and not being able to get experience because of no job).

As for your pay: I find that those who brag about what they're earning usually aren't earning as much as they say. You want to be careful about people assuming you're trying to make yourself sound good.

I always check wether a thing in a page was done with a background in css or something lol, just about every time I see a cool design.
