Add your name as a new layer and change the layer's blending mode. Thats how he done it.

Place the Giglimesh image over the PSP's screen. Then set the Giglimesh image to Screen to make the black background transparent. In doing this, the black that makes up the text will also become transparent... so I created a new layer between the PSP & Giglimesh images and filled in the black of the text by hand.

Whats the command to make the background transparant i cant find that bit.

you have to copy paste, then in the layers window you can edit its blending mode, and like just posted, change its mode to screen, the black in the text's image will be transparent somewhat.
