Well I learned in class today that a human cannot even generate 1 horse power of energy on their own
If you run up the stairs for 10 meters in height and get to the top of the stairs in 30 seconds...you only generate like 230W of energy.....
and 1 horsepower equals approx 750W
Top athlete can only generates 550W...and only can do that for a few seconds
XD Learned that in physics today
I, too, am taking physics, and I must say I do believe that statement is false. I think my math is right, otherwise forget that I said anything.
In a lab we did a week ago, I generated 1.065 horsepower by running up a flight of stairs.
There were 14 stairs that altogether measured 2.1 meters. I ran up these stairs in 1.59 seconds, clocked three different times for accuracy. My weight, in pounds, is 135, and in kilograms, is about 61.36. The formula for the wattage output, called power, is Force in Newtons times the distance traveled, all of this divided by the time it took to travel that distance.
Since my weight is 61.36 kilograms, the force I am lifting up the stairs is that weight multiplied by 9.8m/s squared. This comes out to be just around 601.36 Newtons of force. Multiply that by the distance, 2.1 meters, and then divide by the time, 1.59 seconds, and you get 794.254 Watts of power. Since there are around 746 watts in one horsepower, divide that wattage by 746, and you get your final answer in horsepower. This comes out to be about 1.065 horsepower, for me running up a flight of stairs.
I'm bored and tired, if any of that math is wrong, please call me out on it.

Otherwise you are just doubling gravity!
You weigh 61.36kg...but you have to convert that to Mass or don't multiply by 9.8?
so didn't you only generate like 81hp...wait no now I am confused! You have confused me
No wait I think I am correct D:
Because our example was running up 10meters with like mass 70kg? x.x and taking like...30sec? o_O and we got like 200hp or something of that sort.

If you say your Weight...then don't multiply by 9.8m/s^2

By weight I meant mass, my mass is 61.36 kg, multiplying that by 9.8 got the "weight"
So those calculations are correct then, and didnt you mean watts instead of hp in your last post?

Maybe I misunderstood him and he was saying how much work it takes to create 1hp? I don't know lol! *goes back to studying*
