With it being a php rotator sig, would a sig made in flash, that selects a different sig each time it's used (from the built in libary thing, so there will be no extra downloads) be Ok?

At the moment, we also do not allow flash signatures on the forums.

Yea, 'dynamic' signatures are too... dangerous. It's way too easy to grab peoples IP's, their browser, and (alot harder, but still possible) open ports. Heck, I can type up a php script in about 5 min that'll grab your IP and Browser without you knowing it. I just think it's stupid to have 20 different signatures that you wanna use. Do what I do, and pick one you think is the best, and show that off.

If everyone does what you do nobody will have a sig banner here :)

Have a read please:

yea, sorry about that. I didn't realize that one was that big! Time to start making them smaller >_< I shoulda looked at the properties of that one.

Is alright if I still put my smaller one back up (44 k)?

You can't read text behind the images so none of us know whats in that script safe or bad and the amount of viruses floating all over the web its just NOT safe, some browses force you to download the script if you try to view them.

Well that's probably their own fault for using unsecure software, and it is perfectly simple to achieve the same effect using, well, I'm not really at liberty to say.

And if they are caught they will be banned so please don't encourage this by putting comments like that.

Do you mean only the script rotationg (PHP), or do you also include Animated Gifs (LIKE MINE?)?

I applied this rule to my forum 2 weeks ago as i got members complaining Norton found viruses from my forums. So i found out who was doing it and perm banned them and reported them to there ISP. It's kinda harsh but it was needed

you do know.. that if they have read this... they will make there images hard to distinguish...

cuz i have been working on a way to use teh dynamic sig and still keep loading and all that bad sh!t down to a minimum... so far its 40kb on a 60kb sig...

pretty weird...

and yes.... a dynamic sig that changes images are bad... but you got to remember... taht there are different styles... like ones that are one image but you can change teh color of the image... or a random quote one...

I made one that just showed a different ip address.. and the HTTP_REFERRAL.

tho you(p2l) could always create your own dynasig file and have it so you can have to option to use teh dynasig... with 1 image only and different colors n stuff

To be 100% sure we could disallow images altogether.. that would work :D

There are ways we can check if they're using dynamic sigs or not, and when we find them action will be taken.
