You're not always going to get a great outcome with something that can be made pretty easily... When writing the tutorial, I tried to keep it for who I thought would like it most, my opinion of the average photoshop user...
Makes a good gift and laugh with a friend, and the same technique can be applied for many things. I know you can get some better results with that technique, but I focused more on making it simple to follow, with shortcuts and things ;)
Also I don't mean to argue.. I just talk like that. And since I wrote the tutorial, I get it a 5 :D
