This is only a neat trick if it works. The author put in the incorrect Id for the paragraph. Most should catch that, but not a good sign of a decent proofreader. Provide functional code. ;)
<html>
<head>
<script>
function changestyle(obj,sname,ch) {
// var dom = document.getElementById(obj).style;
// dom [sname] = ch;
document.getElementById(obj).style[sname] = ch;
}
</script>
<style>
#test { font-size: 10px; width: 600px; }
</style>
</head>
<body>
<h1 id="head1" onmouseover="changestyle('test','fontSize','15px'); changestyle('head1','color','blue'); return true;"> Move your mouse over this portion. </h1><br /><br /> <p id="test"> Now you see what it happens? Yes, the text size expands. Now this is a pretty neat trick! </p>
</body>
